S275J2 S355J2 HEA360 Large size H beam

 

Chemical composition and standards ‌


‌S275J2‌ and ‌S355J2‌ are both European standard low alloy steels, in line with ‌EN 10025‌ standards.


S275J2 h section steel: C≤0.22%, Si≤0.55%, Mn≤1.60%, P/S≤0.025%, yield strength ≥275MPa (when thickness ≤16mm).
S355J2 h shaped steel: C≤0.22%, Mn≤1.60%, added Nb/V microalloy elements, yield strength ≥355MPa (when thickness ≤16mm), tensile strength 450-680MPa.


‌Difference comparison‌: S355J2 has higher strength and better impact toughness (-20℃ impact energy ≥27J), suitable for heavy load and low temperature environment.

 

 

‌Heat treatment and processability‌


1. Both S275J2/S355J2 material h beam support normalizing (+N) process to improve grain uniformity, weldability and fatigue resistance.
2. Low carbon equivalent (S355J2 CEV≤0.41%), excellent compatibility with arc welding and submerged arc welding, and stable toughness of welded joints.
3. Supports flame cutting, laser cutting and other processes, with high surface finish, which can meet the needs of complex structures.
