Refined Chemical Composition Design

s690q

S890Q adopts a low-carbon and low-impurity formula with carbon content ≤ 0.2%, silicon ≤ 0.8% and manganese ≤ 1.7%. Meanwhile, alloying elements such as chromium, molybdenum, nickel and niobium are added to enhance strength. Both phosphorus and sulfur contents are strictly controlled below 0.025%, effectively reducing the risk of welding cracks and balancing strength with processability.

Flexible and Adaptable Dimensional Specifications

The regular thickness ranges from 6 to 100mm, the width can be customized from 2000 to 3000mm as required, and the maximum length reaches 18800mm. The large-size specifications can reduce the number of splicing processes for large components, improve the overall structural stability, and meet the needs of heavy industry scenarios such as wind power and bridges.

Strict Delivery Technical Requirements

S890Q is delivered in the quenched and tempered condition by default, and the surface is subjected to shot blasting to remove oxide scale and ensure cleanliness. Special requirements such as ultrasonic flaw detection (e.g. EN 10160 standard) and alloying element composition deviation control can be added according to the contract agreement to ensure product compliance.

Excellent Environmental Corrosion Resistance

S890Q performs stably in industrial atmosphere and mild marine corrosion environments. According to the corrosion test in 5% HFAE emulsion, the annual corrosion rate is only 0.36mm. After surface anti-rust treatment, its service life under humid and dusty working conditions can be further extended.

Welding

Steels specified in this document possess limited weldability propertiessince steel behavior before and after welding
depends not only on the material, but its dimensions and shapes as wellas operating conditions of goods.
General requirements to arc welding of steels specified herein shall be in line with EN 1011-2.
