S890Q Steel Plate Introduction
S890Q is a quenched and tempered high-strength structural steel plate complying with the EN10025-6 European standard, equivalent to the Q890 quenched and tempered high-strength steel in the Chinese national standard, with the material number 1.8940. It is widely used in heavy industry, construction and other fields.
In the designation, "S" stands for structural steel, "890" indicates that the minimum yield strength reaches 890 MPa when the thickness ranges from 3 mm to 50 mm, and "Q" denotes the quenched and tempered delivery condition. Its common dimensions cover a thickness of 4–120 mm, a width of 1000–3000 mm and a length of 12000 mm, suitable for manufacturing various large-scale components.
In terms of composition, it adopts a low carbon equivalent design with a carbon content of ≤ 0.22%. It contains basic elements such as silicon (around 0.8%) and manganese (around 1.7%), as well as alloying elements including chromium, molybdenum, nickel and niobium. The phosphorus and sulfur contents are both strictly controlled below 0.025%, which ensures strength while improving weldability and toughness.
Regarding performance, it has a tensile strength of 940–1100 MPa at room temperature and a low-temperature (-40℃) impact energy of ≥ 40 J, capable of withstanding complex stress and harsh working conditions. It is mainly applied to large engineering machinery arms, wind turbine tower flanges, bridge load-bearing components, mining machinery and other fields with extremely high requirements for material strength and safety.
S890Q - structural high-strength steel with minimum yield strenggth of 890 MPa supplied in quenched and temperedcondition (Q). Plates of S890 steel grade comply with EN 10025-6standard. It is typically used in structures bearing
extreme loads - in the production of mining and heavy construction equipmecrane facilities, offshore drilling r
and supports for offshore wind mills as well as in the constructionof bridges and trestles.

Available dimensions
Plates of S890 steel grade are available with thicknesses of 12-25 mm. Available width of plates is up to 3200 mm,
length - up to 12200 mm. Plates are supplied with edges trimmedor flame cut.
