The difference between HEA180 beam and HEB180 beam steel
Flange width
HEA180 steel h profile is a narrow flange H-beam with relatively narrow flanges.
HEB180 h beam section is a mid-flange H-beam with wider flanges than HEA180, and a relatively larger ratio of flange width to profile height.
Web and flange thickness: Generally, the web and flange thickness of HEB180 h beam profile are thicker than those of HEA180 h profile steel. Thicker webs and flanges make the overall structure of HEB180 h steel profile thicker.
Mechanical properties
Bending capacity: When subjected to bending loads, HEB180 material h beam can provide greater resistance to bending moments with its wider flanges and thicker webs.
Torsion resistance: The wider flanges and reasonable cross-sectional shape make HEB180 steel beam h perform better in torsion resistance.
Application scenarios
HEA180 h type beam: Applicable to general building structures that have certain requirements on structural weight and not particularly high requirements on bearing capacity.
HEB180 h shaped steel beam: Commonly used in important structural parts that have high requirements on bearing capacity and structural stability. Such as the main beam of large industrial buildings, frame beams of high-rise buildings, supporting structures of bridges, etc.
