H-beam W24x306 Steel structure, machinery manufacturing

Definition: American standard H-beam W24x306 belongs to wide flange I-beam (W series), follows ASTM A6/A6M standard, and is mainly used for heavy-duty structures.
Size identification: W24 means the nominal height is 24 inches (≈610 mm), and "306" means the weight per foot is 306 pounds (≈454 kg/m).
Typical parameters (estimated values): waist height 610 mm, leg width ≥300 mm, waist thickness ≥20 mm (specific data needs to be checked in the manufacturer's specification table).
Comparison case: The bearing capacity of W24x306 is 12% higher than that of the same series W24x279, but 8% lower than that of W24x335, and is positioned as a medium-duty heavy-duty structural member.

Material and Mechanical Properties

Definition: Common materials for W24x306 are A572 Gr.50 (high-strength low-alloy steel) or A992 (special steel for construction).
Yield strength: A572 Gr.50 ≥345 MPa, A992 ≥345 MPa (better than 235 MPa of ordinary carbon steel Q235).
Corrosion resistance: Ungalvanized version requires anti-corrosion coating, GNEE provides hot-dip galvanizing option.
