1.What temperature is a387 grade 11 class 2?

ASTM A387 Grade 11 Class 2 is a chromium-molybdenum steel designed for high-temperature pressure vessels, commonly used in the 350°C to 480°C (660°F to 900°F) range, with a mandatory minimum tempering temperature of 620°C (1150°F) after heat treatment to achieve its Class 2 mechanical properties, offering excellent strength and corrosion resistance in elevated-temperature service like reactors and heat exchangers.

2.What is A387 grade 11 material?

The ASTM A387 specification is the Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Alloy Steel, Chromium-Molybdenum intended primarily for use in welded boilers and pressure vessels designed for elevated temperature service. SSAB can supply A387 Grade 11 to the tension test requirements for Class 1 and/or Class 2.

3.How strong is a387 grade 11 class 2?

ASTM A387 Grade 11 Class 2 is a strong chromium-molybdenum alloy steel for high-temperature pressure vessels, offering a tensile strength of 75-100 ksi (515-690 MPa) and a minimum yield strength of 43 ksi (310 MPa), making it stronger and suitable for more demanding conditions than Class 1 due to enhanced heat treatment.
