W24x117 h beam is a heavy-duty specification in the American standard H-beam (W series). A572-50 is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a tensile strength of 50ksi (345MPa).

The height of W24x117 steel h beam is 24 inches (610mm), the flange width is 11.7 inches (297mm), the thickness is 1.397-2.159 inches (35.5-54.8mm), and the theoretical weight is 174.36 kg/m.

Chemical composition: carbon content ≤0.25%, manganese ≤1.65%, phosphorus ≤0.04%, sulfur ≤0.05% (ASTM A572 standard).

A572-50 h type beam improves strength through alloying (such as vanadium and titanium) to meet the ASTM A572 Grade 50 standard.
Yield strength: 50ksi (345MPa), tensile strength 65ksi (448MPa), elongation ≥20%.
Corrosion resistance: better than A36 steel, but requires surface treatment (such as galvanizing) to cope with high humidity environments.
