For A36 angle steel used outdoors, several surface treatments are effective. Hot - dip galvanizing is one of the most popular methods. In this process, the angle steel is immersed in molten zinc, forming a thick, adherent zinc layer. The zinc layer acts as a physical barrier, preventing moisture and oxygen from reaching the steel surface, and also provides sacrificial protection, as zinc will corrode preferentially if the coating is damaged. Another suitable treatment is painting. Anti - rust primers can be applied first to protect the steel from corrosion, followed by topcoats with weather - resistant properties, such as acrylic or polyurethane paints, which offer protection against UV radiation, rain, and other environmental factors. Powder coating is also an option, where a dry powder is electrostatically applied and then cured to form a hard, durable finish that provides good protection and aesthetic appeal for outdoor A36 angle steel applications.
