Products Description

JIS G3125 Grade SPA-C steel plate belongs to the weather-resistant steel plate. And the related standard is JIS G3125. SPA-C steel all made of carbon steel and copper, nickel, phosphorus ,and other chemical elements. The content of these chemical elements, only a few percent.

application

SPA-C weathering steel plates are suitable for various types of welded, bolted, and riveted structures, offering excellent strength and atmospheric corrosion resistance, making them ideal for a wide range of structural applications. The steel typically has a yield strength of 245–355 MPa and a tensile strength of 400–550 MPa, with thicknesses ranging from 4–25 mm and widths up to 1500 mm, ensuring reliability across diverse engineering environments.

They are commonly used in steel frame structures, providing solid load-bearing support for buildings and industrial facilities. In bridge engineering, SPA-C steel can withstand long-term exposure to wind, rain, and repeated loads, with its weathering properties extending structural service life to over 20 years while significantly reducing maintenance frequency.

Additionally, SPA-C steel plates are widely applied in the manufacture of tanks and containers, where the naturally forming protective rust layer ensures long-term corrosion resistance even in maritime or high-humidity environments, extending service life by 15–20 years. The steel is also suitable for exhaust systems, capable of withstanding high-temperature flue gas environments (≤350°C) without significant degradation. In the transportation sector, SPA-C is used for vehicle structural components, such as railway carriages and industrial transport equipment, reducing vehicle weight by 10%–15% while enhancing overall strength and durability.

In summary, SPA-C weathering steel plates, with their excellent corrosion resistance, moderate strength (yield 245–355 MPa), long service life, and processing flexibility, are widely used across construction, transportation, industrial, and energy sectors. Whether for load-bearing structures or functional components, SPA-C steel provides reliable performance and long-term stability.
