Introduction to Mechanical Performance Methods for I-beams

I-beam can be divided into different types of products based on the different flange parts of I-beam, and their applications are also different. Whether it is ordinary or lightweight, due to the relatively high and narrow cross-sectional dimensions, there is a significant difference in the inertia moments of the two main sleeves of the cross-section. Therefore, it can generally only be directly used for components that are bent in its web plane or to form a lattice load-bearing component. The mechanical properties of I-beams are inspected at the factory, so what does the performance inspection include?

The performance inspection method of I-beam is mainly Tensile testing and bending test, which mainly refers to the inspection items to assess the performance of angle steel, and the indicators include yield point, tensile strength, elongation and bending qualification. The following inspection methods mainly include:

1. Tensile testing: common standard inspection methods include GB/T228-87, JISZ2201, JISZ2241, ASTMA370 ГОСТ 1497, BS18, DIN50145, etc;

2. Bending test: The commonly used standard inspection methods include GB/T232-88, JISZ2204, JISZ2248, ASTME290 ГОСТ 14019, DIN50111, etc;

In summary, the above two methods are mainly used for performance inspection of I-beams to check whether their tensile strength, elongation, bending, etc. are qualified. I-beams can be used to form various load-bearing components according to different structural needs, and can also be used as connectors between components, widely used in various building and engineering structures.
