What is ASTM 572 GR 50 steel?
ASTM A572 GR 50 is a high-strength, low-alloy steel. Because Grade 50 steel contains more alloying elements than regular steel, it is more difficult to form, but has a higher strength per unit weight. Because of its high strength, ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel requires less material than regular carbon steel to meet strength requirements.
