hot work tool steel Product Introduction
Tool Steel H13 is a chromium, molybdenum, vanadium hot work tool steel with high hardenability and excellent toughness because the material contains molybdenum and vanadium as strengthening agents.
The chromium content of H-13 prevents softening at high temperatures. H-13 combines good impact resistance and abrasion resistance with good red hardness. This material can withstand rapid cooling and prevent premature thermal cracking. H-13 has good machinability, weldability and ductility.
1 Forging: Heating during forging must be slow and even. Saturate at 1900°-2000°F, reheat as needed, stop working if temperature drops below 1650°F. After forging, it is slowly cooled in lime, mica, dry ash or in a furnace. H-13 must be annealed after forging.
