5CrMnMo is a mold steel developed by adding Cr, Mn and Mo elements on the basis of medium carbon steel. It can also be regarded as formed by replacing the nickel element in 5CrNiMo steel with manganese element.
The steel for hot work mold steel, in addition to hardenability and resistance to thermal fatigue, 5CrMnMo steel performance and 5CrNiMo steel is similar, but the hardenability is slightly worse. This steel is suitable for production requiring high strength and high resistance. Various forging dies with abrasive properties. Electroslag remelted steel can be used when higher toughness is required.
5CrMnMo steel carbon content is maintained at 0.40% ~ 0.60%, can obtain high strength and heat fatigue strength, and has a certain degree of hardness and abrasion resistance, steel toughness and thermal conductivity is better.
