AISI S7 tool steel is an impact-resistant air-hardening steel. AISI S7 steel has excellent impact properties and the highest hardenability and is particularly outstanding among impact-resistant tool steels. S7 steel also has good resistance to softening at high temperatures, which gives it hot workability. Since S7 steel hardens in air, it is also safe and stable during heat treatments.
AISI S7 tool steel offers an unusual combination of properties and is suitable for a wide range of tool and mold processing with impact resistance, moderate hot workability or ease of machining and heat treatment.
