M10 Tool Steels Product Introduction
M10 high-speed steel is a general-purpose, high-speed, molybdenum-type tool steel in the American standard. The brand of M10 steel is Mo8Cr4V2 steel.
The main alloying element of molybdenum high-speed tool steel is molybdenum, without tungsten or with a small amount of tungsten. Its main characteristics are fine carbide particles, uniform distribution, and good toughness, but it has high decarburization sensitivity and overheating sensitivity, and has a narrow range of thermal processing and heat treatment.
M10 can be used in tool applications that require excellent wear resistance and cutting capabilities, including punches, milling cutters, taps, drills, broaches, planers and more. Additionally, M10 is approximately 30% less machinable than 1018 carbon steel.
