High-speed tools are divided into molybdenum high-speed steel and tungsten high-speed steel. Molybdenum high-speed tool steels are known as Group M steels. There are different types of molybdenum high speed tool steel. With the exception of M6, M 1 through M 10 all contain some tungsten but no cobalt. M36 is a molybdenum high speed tool steel.
M36 high speed molybdenum steel usage characteristics:
The hardness can still maintain a high hardness at an operating temperature of about 600°C. Red hardness is a very important property for steels used in thermal deformation molds and high-speed cutting tools.
Wear resistance has good wear resistance, that is, the ability to resist wear and tear. Tools retain their shape and size despite being subjected to considerable pressure and friction.
Strength and Toughness Cobalt-containing high-speed tool steel is based on general high-speed tool steel and adds a certain amount of cobalt, which can significantly improve the hardness, wear resistance and toughness of the steel.
Other properties include certain high-temperature mechanical properties, thermal fatigue, thermal conductivity and wear and corrosion resistance.
