M42 ultra-high speed steel is a high-quality cobalt high-speed steel with a cobalt content of 8% or 10%, and its chemical composition provides high hardness and excellent hot hardness. These properties make M42 an excellent choice for machining high-strength steels, pre-hardened steels, high-hardness alloys and difficult-to-machine non-ferrous superalloys used in the aerospace, petroleum and power generation industries.
This M42 high-speed steel bar stock enables tools to achieve excellent cutting performance. It has high hardness and excellent thermal hardness and is known for its excellent wear resistance.
In addition, M42 has a high heat treatment hardness (68 to 70 HRC) and exhibits excellent wear resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in metal manufacturing industry.
