Flat steel
Flat steel is a kind of section steel, which refers to the steel with a width of 12-300mm, a thickness of 4-60mm, a rectangular section and a slightly pure edge.
The main materials of flat steel are carbon structural steel, high-quality carbon structural steel, low alloy high strength structural steel. The technical standards are: carbon structural steel standard: GB700-88; High quality carbon structural steel standard: GB/T699-1999; Low alloy high strength structural steel standard: GB/T1591-94. Q235 and Q345 are the most common flat steel materials.

Flat steel mainly has two forming methods: hot rolling and cold drawing. The maximum width of hot rolling is 150mm and the maximum thickness is 60mm.
Flat steel can be finished steel, or it can be used as blank for welding pipes and thin slab for rolling sheet.
