Typical elastic modulus of alloy steel at room temperature (25°C) is 190 to 210 GPa. The typical density of alloy steel is about 7.85 g/cm3. Tensile strength typically ranges from 758 to 1882 MPa. Such a wide range of ultimate tensile strengths is mainly due to different heat treatment conditions.

 

SAE 945A is an HSLA (High Strength Low Alloy) grade alloy steel. It consists (by weight) of 0.15% carbon (C), 1.00% manganese (Mn), 0.04% phosphorus (P), 0.05% sulfur (S), 0.90% silicon (Si) and the base metal iron (Fe) . Another common name for SAE 945A alloy steel is AISI 945A.
