Hot Forging Die Product Introduction
Hot forging dies are exposed to a combination of cyclic thermal, mechanical, frictional and chemical loads. These loads often occur simultaneously, resulting in forging die wear, which can be categorized as mechanical and thermal cracking, plastic deformation and abrasion. Depending on the material required for the die, short pressure dwell times and elevated die surface temperatures show potential to help reduce damage to forging dies. In addition, the spraying time and lubricant concentration have a beneficial effect on die life.
In terms of temperature, there are different types of forging: hot forging, warm forging, and cold forging (see Cold Forging vs Warm Forging vs Hot Forging). Of these types of forging, hot forging is the most commonly used forging process.
