What are the commonly used grades of high-speed steel?
General-purpose high-speed steel W18Cr4V: has good comprehensive performance, strong versatility, and strong grindability. It is mainly used for manufacturing finishing and complex tools of light alloy, carbon steel, alloy steel, and ordinary cast iron, such as thread turning tools, drill bits, Reamers, taps, milling cutters, gear cutters, broaches, etc.
General-purpose high-speed steel: mainly used to manufacture cutting tools and precision tools for metal materials with a cutting hardness HB less than or equal to 300. Commonly used steel grades include W18Cr4V, W6Mo5Cr4V2, etc.

There are two common types of ordinary high-speed steel, tungsten-based high-speed steel and tungsten-molybdenum-based high-speed steel.
The typical grade of tungsten-based high-speed steel is W18Cr4V. Its heat treatment hardness can reach 63-66HRC, its bending strength can reach 3500MPa, and it has good grindability.
