
The hot-rolled H-shaped Q355MD steel produced by GNEE Group is used in the viaduct project of the Liaoning Expressway. The Q355MD steel has become a key force, injecting strong support into transportation infrastructure construction. The steel of grade Q355MD is selected for this project, with specifications including H858X301X17X31, H1008X302X21X40, etc. The maximum web height reaches 1008mm, and about 5,000 tons of the steel is comprehensively applied to the viaduct structure.
In the two span designs of 15m and 19m, 6 steel beams are arranged on each side of each span. Every 2 steel beams are connected by crossbeams, precisely achieving a layout of 12 hot-rolled H-shaped steel beams and 10 crossbeams. This project not only demonstrates the advantages of Q355MD steel in terms of high strength and adaptability but also marks its in-depth application in the field of transportation infrastructure, helping to build a more stable and efficient transportation network for the expressway, erecting an "iron backbone" for regional development, and providing an example for business cooperation in the steel market for major transportation projects.


As a commonly used low-alloy high-strength structural steel for projects such as bridges, the hot-rolled H-shaped Q355MD steel has multiple advantages: excellent strength, with a yield strength of 355MPa and a tensile strength in the range of 470 - 630MPa, and a strong bearing capacity to stably support the load of the viaduct; good low-temperature toughness, still maintaining good toughness in low-temperature environments, being adaptable to complex working conditions and reducing the risk of brittle fracture; excellent weldability, due to its low carbon equivalent, a small heat-affected zone in welding, and easy process control, facilitating the on-site welding and splicing of components such as steel beams and crossbeams; outstanding fatigue resistance and weather resistance. When enduring cyclic stresses such as vehicle loads for a long time, its fatigue resistance can reduce structural damage, and it also has a certain atmospheric corrosion resistance, adapting to outdoor environments and helping to extend the service life of the viaduct structure.
