H-shaped Steel Production Process And Advantages And Disadvantages

Oct 27, 2023 Leave a message

H-shaped steel is a kind of economic section profile with more optimized section area distribution and more reasonable strength-to-weight ratio, which is named because its section is the same as the English letter "H". Because all parts of H-shaped steel are arranged at right angles, H-shaped steel has the advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving and light structural weight in all directions, and has been widely used.

H-beam steel has two categories: hot rolled and welded H-beam steel. It is generally believed that when the section modulus of H-beam steel exceeds 10000, it is better to produce by rolling method than by welding method. There are many types of H-shaped steel although the section modulus is not large, but because its section is asymmetrical, such as the legs have different lengths or different thicknesses, this H-shaped steel is also difficult to roll, and is often produced by welding method.

Compared with the rolling method, the advantage of the welding method is that it can "produce various H-shaped steel sections that are difficult to roll." Flexible production operation, suitable for small batch, multi-variety market demand.

The disadvantages of welding methods are: high metal consumption, high production costs, and low output.

The production process of welded H-beam steel can be divided into two kinds: one is continuous, which uses steel coil as raw material; The other is intermittent type, which uses steel plate as raw material.

The continuous process is: strip slitting → uncoiling → beveling → positioning → welding → straightening → cutting → packaging
