S460Q, S460QL, and S460QL1 are three different grades of steel, developed to meet the requirements of various applications. All three are high-strength quenched and tempered steels, offering excellent strength, as well as good weldability and formability. Each grade has its unique characteristics, including carbon content, dimensions, and hardness.

S460Q

S460Q: Minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, tensile strength 550–720 MPa, carbon content approximately 0.20–0.22%, impact toughness ≥60 J at -40°C, thickness range 6–150 mm, width 1500–4050 mm, length 3000–15000 mm. Suitable for bridges, cranes, and general load-bearing structures.

 

S460QL: Minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, tensile strength 590–770 MPa, carbon content approximately 0.16%, impact toughness ≥70 J at -40°C, thickness range 6–120 mm, width 1500–4050 mm, length 3000–12000 mm. Ideal for high-stress environments such as offshore structures and mining equipment.

 

S460QL1: Minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, tensile strength 600–780 MPa, carbon content approximately 0.12%, impact toughness ≥80 J at -40°C, thickness range 6–100 mm, width 1500–3000 mm, length 3000–12000 mm. Suitable for extreme low-temperature or special high-stress applications.

 

These specifications demonstrate that all three steel grades maintain high strength while providing excellent toughness and weldability, meeting the diverse requirements of engineering projects in terms of load-bearing capacity, durability, and fabrication adaptability.
