718 is a nickel-chromium alloy containing supplementary amounts of columbium, iron, molybdenum, aluminum and titanium. It is also known as Nickel Alloy 718. Due to the durability and ductility characteristics of this alloy, it has a wide range of applications in a wide range of industries.
Common uses of 718 nickel alloy: deployment in gas turbines, underground safety valves, aircraft engines, thrust height, industrial fasteners, etc.
When exposed to high temperatures up to 1300°F, Alloy 718 effectively resists stress cracking and creep and maintains corrosion resistance below the 1800° threshold. Additionally, its tensile strength and impact resistance remain unchanged across low temperature ranges, making it particularly useful in aerospace applications.
