What are the classifications of spring steel?

Spring steel is an alloy steel specially used to make springs and has good elasticity and wear resistance. Spring steel can be divided into various classifications based on its alloy composition and properties.

1. Carbon spring steel: Carbon spring steel rod bar is the most common type of spring round bar stock steel. It is mainly composed of iron and carbon elements, with a carbon content between 0.45% and 0.85%. Carbon spring round steel rod has good elasticity and strength and is suitable for manufacturing general springs, coil springs and torsion springs, etc.

2. Chromium-molybdenum spring steel: Chromium-molybdenum spring round metal stock is an alloy steel that adds alloying elements such as chromium and molybdenum to carbon spring steel. Chromolybdenum spring round metal rod has higher hardness and wear resistance, excellent fatigue resistance, and is suitable for manufacturing springs used under high strength, high temperature and high load conditions.

3. Silicon-manganese spring steel: Silicon-manganese spring solid steel round bar is an alloy steel that replaces the molybdenum element in chromium-molybdenum spring steel with manganese and silicon. Silicon manganese spring solid round bar steel has good elasticity and wear resistance, and is suitable for manufacturing automobile suspension springs, industrial machinery springs and agricultural machinery springs, etc.

4. Vulcanized spring steel: Vulcanized spring round metal rod is a special spring steel that uses sulfur element to treat carbonized spring steel. Vulcanization treatment can improve the processing performance and heat treatment performance of steel, and is suitable for manufacturing cold die springs, tension springs and spring coils.

5. Molybdenum spring steel: Molybdenum spring round steel is an alloy steel with molybdenum added to carbon spring steel. Molybdenum spring steel has higher strength and wear resistance, excellent fatigue resistance, and is suitable for manufacturing springs used under high load and high temperature conditions.

6. Nickel alloy spring steel: Nickel alloy spring steel round bar is an alloy steel with a large amount of nickel added to the steel. Nickel alloy spring steel has good corrosion resistance and thermal stability, and is suitable for manufacturing springs used in high temperature and corrosive environments.
