Differences between W18x211 W18x234 wide flange steel of A572GR50 material

A572GR50 h shape metal is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel under the American standard ASTM A572/A572M, with niobium (Nb) and vanadium (V) as key alloying elements.

Performance of A572GR50 h beam section
High strength: yield strength ≥345MPa, tensile strength 450-550MPa, suitable for heavy-load scenarios.
‌Corrosion resistance‌: Through niobium and vanadium grain refinement and normalizing process, a dense microstructure is formed, and the corrosion resistance to salt spray and humid environment is better than that of ordinary carbon steel.
‌Weldability‌: Low carbon equivalent design (C≤0.23%), supports a variety of welding processes (such as submerged arc welding, gas shielded welding), preheating before welding (120-150℃ when the plate thickness is ≥25mm) and E70/E80 welding rods are required.

Performance advantages of A572GR50 h steel profile
Dynamic load-bearing capacity: elongation ≥18%, impact toughness ≥27J at -40℃, adaptable to low temperature and high vibration environment.
‌Processing adaptability‌: Supports CNC plasma/flame cutting, good cold bending performance, and requires stress relief annealing (580-620℃) after processing‌.
‌Lightweight design‌: Compared with traditional Q345B steel, it can reduce the material consumption by 15%-20% at the same strength‌.
