A minute to take you to learn about building materials - I steel
I-beams, also known as steel beams, are long strips of steel with I-shaped sections. Because the cross-section size of the I-steel is relatively high and narrow, the moment of inertia of the two main axes of the cross-section is very different, and it can only be directly used for the members bending in the web plane or it can be composed of lattice stress members.
I-steel according to the different specifications can be divided into ordinary I-steel, light I-steel and H-type I-steel three categories, the difference between the three specifications is mainly reflected in the waist height, leg width and waist thickness three aspects, further speaking is the difference in the shape of the flange. The flange of the first two I-beams is thin on the outside and thick on the inside, while the flange of the H I-beams is the same thickness on the inside and outside. Due to the differences in the specifications of these three I-beams, there are also certain differences in performance, and the specific uses of the three are also different in engineering construction.

The advantages of I-beams
1. The flange of the I-steel is wide and the hardness of the side is strong, so the bending resistance is particularly strong and it is not easy to bend. In addition, the appearance of the flange is parallel to each other, which will also make the construction process more convenient and reduce the difficulty of operation.
2, the I-steel cost is less, the residual stress is smaller, and the accuracy is high. The materials required for welding I-beams are much cheaper than those for welding general types of steel, and there is no need to do welding inspection, which can greatly save costs.
3, the weight of I-steel is small, high bearing capacity. Compared with the concrete structure, the I-beam structure can increase the use area by 6%, and the structure's self-weight is reduced by 20% to 30%, which is an economical type of steel.
