S235JR describes non-alloy structural steels, part 2 of the EN 10025 specification. “S” stands for “structural steel” and has a yield strength of 235 MPa. The "JR" designation confirms that the material has passed a Charpy V-notch impact test of 27 Joules at room temperature.
S275JR is a very low carbon grade suitable for many general and construction applications.
