Application
Corten (weathering) seamless steel pipes are primarily used in sulfur-containing flue gas environments for economizers, air preheaters, heat exchangers, and evaporators, providing resistance against condensation corrosion caused by high-sulfur flue gas.
These pipes typically have a wall thickness of 4–25 mm and a diameter of 60–300 mm, with uniform wall thickness capable of withstanding a working pressure of up to 2.5 MPa, suitable for flue gas temperatures ranging from 150–350°C.
Their chemical composition usually includes 0.25–0.55% copper and 0.04–0.07% phosphorus, which help form a stable weathering protective layer, thereby extending the service life of the pipes and reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
Corten seamless steel pipes demonstrate excellent corrosion resistance and long-term reliability in industrial boilers and heat exchange systems.
