ASTM Specification A606, the standard steel specification for high-strength, low-alloy, hot- and cold-rolled sheet and strip for structural and other applications, is a high-strength material that does not require painting, and its surface develops a patina that resembles rust, protecting the material from corrosion and providing better resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
A606 Cor-Ten weathering steel is suitable for welded, bolted or riveted structures, and common applications include landscaping, retaining walls, planter boxes, outdoor sculptures, building facades, utility poles, rail cars and other structures requiring high strength and enhanced corrosion resistance.
