A514GrE A514GrF angle steel
A514 is a quenched and tempered high strength weldable steel under ASTM standard, which is mainly used in places requiring high tensile strength and high yield, engineering automobile lifting gears, and rack and pinion for offshore platforms.
There are eight different grades of ASTM A514: A514 GrA, A514 GrB, A514 GrE, A514 GrF, A514 GrH, A514 GrP, A514 GrQ, A514 GrS. Thicknesses, chemical compositions, and properties of different grades of A514 steel vary.
The chemical composition of A514GrE angle steel is also an important reason for its excellent mechanical properties. It mainly contains carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum and other elements. Among them, the carbon content is low, 0.12%-0.21%, and the manganese content is high, 0.70%-1.00%. The combination of these elements can increase the strength and hardness of the steel, and at the same time improve its corrosion and wear resistance.
A514GrE steel applications:A514GrE steel plate is a high-strength alloy steel, which has excellent mechanical properties and chemical composition. This steel is widely used in the manufacture of ships, bridges, construction and mechanical equipment.
The hardness of A514GrF alloy angle steel is between 235-290, the yield is more than 630MPa, and the tensile strength is more than 700MPa.This kind of steel is a little bit more difficult to process.
