A514GrP steel is a high-strength low alloy structural steel with good mechanical properties and workability. It is usually used to make structural parts that require high strength and good welding performance, such as bridges, buildings, construction machinery, pressure vessels and so on.
A514GrP steel implementation standard: ASTM A514/A514M, and national standard Q690 high strength plate is more similar.
A514GrP structural steel delivery status
1. Hot rolled state (HR): the steel is cooled directly in the hot rolling process, with iron oxide on the surface, usually used for general structural parts.
2. Normalized state (N): steel cooled after normalizing treatment, with good comprehensive mechanical properties, usually used for demanding structural components.
3. Tempered state (QT): steel cooled after tempering treatment, with higher strength and toughness, usually used for higher requirements of structural components.
4. Annealed condition (A): steel cooled after annealing treatment, with good plasticity and toughness, usually used for cold working and deep drawing.
A514GrP Low Alloy High Strength Structural Steel Application Scope
The main use is is used in the demand for high tensile, high yield places, engineering car lifting gear, large excavators, marine channels and so on. The thickness, chemical composition and function of different grades of A514 steel vary.
