The ASTM A283 specification is a standard specification for low and intermediate tensile strength carbon steels for general structural applications.
ASTM A283 carbon steel is an alloy of iron and is further categorized as carbon steel. It covers four grades of low carbon steel structural quality plates for general purpose applications. grades A, B, C, and D.
There are four grades of structural quality by application: A283GrA, A283GrB, A283GrC, and A283GrD. Execution Standard: ASTM A283/A283M-03 is equivalent to the ASME standards, i.e., SA283GrA, SA283GrB, SA283GrC, and SA283GrD.
ASTM A283 carbon steel angle is characterized by structural qualities of low and medium tensile strength carbon.
ASTM A283 angle carbon steel shall be fabricated using one or more of the following processes: flat furnace, alkaline oxygen converter, or electric furnace.
