Hot Die Steel Product Introduction
NAK80 steel is a precipitation-hardening or age-hardening mold steel with a uniform through-body hardness of approximately 40 HRC. It is an ultra-clean vacuum arc remelted steel with uniform grain structure, uniform hardness and excellent dimensional stability. NAK80 tool steel is an improved grade of NAK55 with improved mirror finish, EDM-machined surface and toughness.
JIS NAK80 steel has the following unique characteristics:
Ultra-clean vacuum arc remelting manufacturing process.
Hardness 40 HRc.
Age hardened to achieve uniform hardness even in heavy sections.
When welded, NAK leaves no visual trace after re-aging.
The grain structure is uniform with no pinholes, inclusions or hard spots.
Processes 20% faster than 30 HRc P20 tool steel.
Even after heavy machining, no stress relief is required.
Polishes to a premium No. 1 finish, even on welded areas.
