AISI 1215 Steel Product Introduction

The primary use of 1215 is free machining of steel. It can be used in a variety of applications such as shafts, spindles, pins, rods and sprockets. This material can also be used in a variety of products in cold drawn or turned and polished conditions.
Corrosion resistance of AISI 1215 solid round bar
It has good corrosion resistance in most environments, including fresh water, weak acids and bases, dry air and certain chemicals. However, this material corrodes rapidly in salt water or highly corrosive environments.
Heat resistance of AISI 1215 round bar stock steel
Has good heat resistance up to around 400 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this material loses strength at high temperatures and should not be used above this temperature range.
