Products Description
S355J2W is a weathering steel grade that belongs to the European standard EN 10025-5. It offers excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance with a yield strength of 355 MPa, tensile strength ranging from 470 to 630 MPa, and a minimum elongation of about 20%. Typical thickness ranges from 4 to 25 mm, while widths can reach up to 1000–2500 mm.
The steel undergoes a hot rolling process, followed by cooling and cutting to the required length. Corten S355J2W plates may also be further treated by normalization or controlled rolling to optimize mechanical properties and improve impact toughness, making them especially suitable for use in low-temperature conditions.
S355J2W coils are widely used in bridges, facades, containers, railway cars, and structural components. The S355J2W strip is well known not only for its high strength and good workability but also for its distinctive rust-like appearance, which forms naturally and reduces maintenance costs while enhancing aesthetic appeal.
