Carbon, Silicon, Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur are the main basic elements in EN S355J2G2W EN 10155.
Carbon is the most important hardening element in steel.
Silicon helps to strengthen the strength. Like manganese, silicon is used to maintain the strength of steel during steel production.
Manganese is the important austenite stabilizing elements contribute to the formation of texture structure and increase the firmness, strength and wear resistance.
Phosphorus is a harmful element. Reducing the plasticity and toughness of steel and appearing cold brittleness. It can significantly increase the strength of steel, and improve the atmospheric corrosion stability. The content should be limited to less than 0.05%.
Usually sulfur is a harmful element, which makes the hot brittleness of steel high, and the content of sulfur is limited to less than 0.05%.
