321H stainless steel channel steel

321H stainless steel is a widely used stainless steel where parts are heated and exposed to corrosive atmospheres within the carbide precipitation temperature range (800°F-1500°F). 321 stainless steel is similar to 304 stainless steel but has a higher nickel content and is stabilized with titanium. Titanium reacts preferentially with the carbon in the steel and prevents the precipitation of chromium carbides at the grain boundaries, thereby maintaining corrosion resistance by preventing the depletion of chromium near the grain boundaries when exposed to critical temperature ranges. This grade responds well to cold work hardening. Has good welding characteristics; and usually does not require post-weld annealing to restore its excellent performance under various corrosive conditions.

Characteristics and Properties of Stainless Steel 321:

1、Corrosion Resistance: One of the main advantages of 321 stainless steel is its excellent resistance to corrosion in various environments, including acidic, alkaline, and chloride-containing solutions. The titanium addition helps prevent the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries, which can lead to intergranular corrosion under certain conditions.

2、High-Temperature Stability: 321 stainless steel exhibits good high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, making it suitable for applications involving elevated temperatures, such as exhaust systems, furnace parts, and aerospace components.

3、Weldability: Stainless steel 321 can be readily welded using common welding techniques, although post-weld annealing is often recommended to maintain corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone.

4、Formability: Like other austenitic stainless steels, 321 offers good formability and ductility, making it suitable for various fabrication processes.
