Products Description
S275J2 steel is mainly supplied in the form of hot-rolled section steel and is a high-strength structural steel grade widely used in riveted, bolted, or welded constructions of bridges and buildings.
S275J2 hot-rolled section steel features excellent weldability, allowing it to be easily joined with other weldable steels. Its low carbon content also provides good cold-forming properties, making it easy to process into the required shapes during construction and fabrication.
The typical chemical composition of S275J2 is: Carbon (C) ≤ 0.22%, Manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.60%, Silicon (Si) ≤ 0.55%, Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.035%, and Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.035%.

Mechanical properties include a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa, tensile strength of 410–560 MPa, elongation ≥ 23%, and impact energy of 27J at 0°C, ensuring toughness and reliability even in low-temperature environments.
S275J2 section steel is available in a variety of common profiles, including I-beams, channels, angles, H-beams, square, and round bars. Section heights typically range from 100–600 mm, with widths and wall thicknesses customizable according to project requirements.
Its applications are extensive, covering bridge structures, factory buildings, warehouses, towers, heavy machinery frames, and various load-bearing structural components, providing safe and reliable performance under medium loads and complex conditions.

en 10025-2 s275j2 Benefits
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: With a yield strength of 275 MPa, it enables lighter structures without sacrificing load-bearing capacity, reducing material costs in buildings and machinery.
Superior Low-Temperature Toughness: Tested at -20°C, en 10025-2 s275j2 performs reliably in cold environments, outperforming EN 10025-2 S275JR (+20°C).
Excellent Weldability: Low carbon equivalent (CEV ≈ 0.40) allows welding without preheating in many cases, facilitating efficient fabrication for large structures.
Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance: Additions of silicon and copper provide better resistance to weathering, making it suitable for outdoor applications like bridges.
Cost-Effectiveness: Offers higher strength than EN 10025-2 S235J2 steel, allowing for material savings while maintaining performance.
Compliance and Certification: Meets DIN EN 10025-2 and BS EN 10025-2 material grade requirements, with Gangsteel providing CE marking and EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificates.
