SS540 executive standard is JIS, SS540 is a carbon structural angle steel, this structural steel has 0.30% carbon and 1.60% manganese, they greatly increase its strength.
Compared with SS400 and SS490, SS540 has higher strength - 400 MPa yield strength and 540 MPa tensile strength. The high strength makes it popular in applications where strength is needed but weight is an issue.
SS540 angles are divided according to shape, including equal and unequal, in addition to three types of finishes - black, hot-dipped galvanized and painted.
