Tungsten Alloy Material Product Introduction
Tantalum-tungsten alloy is a refractory metal that maintains useful physical and chemical properties even at high temperatures. Tantalum-tungsten alloy has the characteristics of high melting point and good tensile properties. Tungsten, the element with the highest melting point in the periodic table, and tantalum are highly corrosion-resistant.
Tantalum-tungsten alloys often vary in tungsten content. Some common ones are:
(Ta - 2.5% W) → Also known as "tantalum 63 metal". The content of tungsten is about 2 ~ 3%, and the content of niobium is 0.5%. This alloy has good corrosion resistance and performs well at high temperatures. An example application is piping in the chemical industry.
(Ta - 7.5% W) → Also known as "tantalum 61 metal", contains 7 - 8% tungsten. What makes this alloy different from other alloys is that it has a high elastic modulus while retaining its fire-resistant properties.
(Ta - 10% W) → Also known as "tantalum 60 metal", contains 9 - 11% tungsten. This alloy is not as ductile as other alloys and is not as plastic as other alloys. Applications include high temperature, highly corrosive environments such as aerospace components, furnaces and nuclear power plant piping.
