DIN1.6587/18CrNiMo7-6 is a low-carbon, case-hardened (carburized) steel containing 1.8% chromium-nickel-molybdenum as strengthening agent in accordance with EN 10084. It has high core strength and toughness of medium to large cross-sections, and the surface hardness can reach Rc62 after carburizing, quenching and tempering. It is also used in the field of heavy-duty and high-strain gear parts with high core tensile strength requirements.
18CrNiMo7-6 is a high toughness case hardened steel. There are many variants with high cleanliness requirements. All variants have a stricter ingredient range compared to the standard. 18CrNiMo7-6 round rod is a grade with added chromium, nickel, molybdenum and coal, with a range of properties suitable for all carburizing grades. 18CrNiMo7-6 round rod is used for heavy-duty components that withstand high pressure and high variable speed operations.
