Normalizing is a process that is used to reduce the internal stresses in the material. The material is heated to around 900°C and then cooled in air. Normalizing increases the strength, hardness and yield strength of DIN 17155 I DIN 17155.When increased ductility is required, Annealing is used. The process involves heating the material to around 850°C and cooling it slowly in air. This causes the material to become softer and increases its ductility.
