Molybdenum Material Product Introduction
Ferromolybdenum is an alloy formed by combining iron and molybdenum. Ferromolybdenum is a hardener found in many heat-treatable steel alloys. Molybdenum prevents corrosion in stainless steel and when mixed with iron, molybdenum also strengthens and hardens into austenite. There are many grades of ferromolybdenum, but there are only two main grades, in which the pure molybdenum content is between 60% and 75%.
Properties of ferromolybdenum: Ferromolybdenum is an additive in the production process of amorphous metals. One of the main benefits of adding ferromolybdenum to the alloy is its hardening properties, making the steel very strong and weldable, because molybdenum is one of the top five melting point metals one. In addition, adding ferromolybdenum to the alloy can improve the corrosion resistance of the alloy. The characteristics of ferromolybdenum make it suitable for various protective films on other metals.
