S355 JO HN CARBON STEEL H BEAM is a high-strength low-alloy European standard structural steel covering four of the six “Parts” within the EN 10025 – 2004 standard.
With minimum yield of 50,000 KSI, it meets requirements in chemistry and physical properties similar to ASTM A572. Careful attention should always be placed on the specific variation of S355 required if considering substitute material.

S355 JO HN CARBON STEEL H BEAM are manufactured to tightly controlled processes according to a product standard and should be CE marked. When buying steel, it is important to specify the product standard, e.g. BS EN 10025, and to avoid any steel products that do not have the appropriate certification or where there is no mention of the product standard. BS EN 1993-1-1 contains a list of suitable steel grades for structural applications, such as beams and columns, along with the corresponding product standard for the steel.
