CARBON STEEL H BEAM S355JR is one of the quality grades in S355 steel group, the steel has a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (51 ksi) when the thickness is ≤16mm, and the minimum impact energy 27J at room temperature 20 °C (68 °F). The S355 steel group also includes other quality grades such as: S355J0, S355J2 and S355K2.

CARBON STEEL H BEAM S355JR is a new steel grade in latest version chinese steel standard EN 1591-2018,before this version,carbon S355JR H beam steel from European British steel standard BS EN10025-2 low alloy high strength steels.These two steel materials Q355B and S355JR are totally equivalent in chemical composition and mechincal properties from the following comparasion data table.

S355JR carbon H profile steel has been used extensively in the construction of commercial buildings since the first steel-framed building, the Rand Mcnally Building erected in 1890.
