S235J0W has good corrosion resistance and expansion resistance. Due to its special chemical composition, it can resist strong acid corrosion and oxidation corrosion, making it extremely weather-resistant and strong. Weathering steel is widely used, mainly in ships, buildings, bridges, automobiles, pipelines, machinery, etc.

S235J0W steel plate is a flat section steel with a large ratio of width to thickness, which is widely used in industry. Steel plates are divided into medium and thick steel plates and thin steel plates according to thickness. Strip steel is a thin plate with a narrow width and a long length, and is mostly supplied in coils. The specifications of steel plates are expressed in thickness*width*length (or coil) mm.

S235J0W medium and thick steel plates: Steel plates with a thickness greater than 4mm belong to medium and thick steel plates. Among them, steel plates with a thickness of 4.5-25.0mm are called medium and thick plates, those with a thickness of 25.0-100.0mm are called thick plates, and those with a thickness of more than 100.0mm are called extra thick plates. At present, most medium and thick steel plates are produced by hot rolling, and medium and thick steel plates are divided into ordinary medium and thick steel plates and high-quality medium and thick steel plates.

The use of S235J0W weathering steel still faces the following problems:

1. Corrosion of welding points: The oxidation rate of welding points must be the same as other materials, which requires special welding materials and techniques.

2. Water corrosion: Weathering steel is not stainless steel. If there is water in the concave part of weathering steel, the corrosion rate of this place will become faster, so drainage must be done well.

3. Salt-rich air environment: Weathering steel is more sensitive to salt-rich air environment such as Hawaii. In such an environment, the surface protective film may not prevent further oxidation inside.

4. Discoloration: The rust layer on the surface of weathering steel can make the surface of nearby objects rusty.
