Products Description
The yield strength of S355JR steel plate is not less than 355MPa, the tensile strength is 470-630MPa, and the elongation after fracture is not less than 22%. S355JR also has certain wear resistance, and S355JR has small cutting deformation and is easy to weld. It is often used for cutting large parts, or cutting strips and square plates for welding large structural parts. Steel plate cut thick according to the drawing is also used in mining metallurgical machinery and equipment, engineering machinery, hydraulic machinery, bridge construction, high-rise buildings and so on.
Application
S355JR steel (1.0045 material) is one of the quality grades in S355 steel group, the steel has a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (51 ksi) when the thickness is ≤16mm, and the minimum impact energy 27J at room temperature 20 °C (68 °F). The S355 steel group also includes other quality grades such as: S355J0, S355J2 and S355K2.

For long products the P and S content can be 0.005 % higher.
If the chemical composition shows a total aluminum (Al) content of ≤0.020% or acid-soluble Al ≤ 0.015%, or if sufficient other nitrogen-binding elements are present, the N maximum does not apply. In this case, the nitrogen-binding element should be mentioned in the inspection document.
