What is Q235 steel?
Q235 steel is a kind of carbon structural steel. It is equivalent to A3 and C3 steel in the old standard GB700-79, and is the brand of Russian toct. Q represents the yield limit of this material, and the following 235 refers to the yield value of this material, which is about 235Mpa. And the yield value will decrease with the increase of the thickness of the material. Due to the moderate carbon content, the comprehensive performance is better, and the strength, plasticity and welding properties are well matched, so it is most widely used.
Meaning and Designation of Q235
It consists of Q + number + quality grade symbol + deoxidation method symbol. Its steel number is crowned with "Q", representing the yield point of the steel, followed by a number indicating the yield point value in MPa, for example, Q235 means the yield stress (σs) of 235 MPa carbon structural steel.
